How to efficiently use your spotlight search on your Mac.

Many of us believe that the Spotlight search feature is completely useless (not to mention that it takes up a lot of battery life).  But if you learn how to use it, you can get the best benefits out of it.
First of all, you want to go into your settings or 'system preferences'.

After that you will see spotlight.  When you click on it, a big list of items will pop up.

As you can see, I only have a few things selected. This is because the more preferences you have checked, the more battery life it will take up.  It is also really annoying to have a million results every time you type a word.

After that you are all done!  Just use your keyboard and press Command+Space Bar

After that, this little menu should pop up.  To close, repeat as before.

Little tricks that you can use-

Calculator-
That's right! Just type in the equation and the computer automatically answers it.

For adding use the + sign
For subtracting use the - sign
For multiplying use the * sign (Shift+8)
For dividing use the / sign

Dictionary-
Just type in the word and wait for the results.

Lost emails-
Trying to find an important email in your inbox? Just type the words you can remember.

There are much more that you can explore but these are the only ones I really use.  For a chance to have a shoutout, comment below what you use your spotlight search for.
