How to keep your mouth cool when eating chili

I love Mexican food.  The only problem is that a lot of it is really hot!  Today I'm going to give you some tips on chili and how to stop that burning sensation!
Chili has a chemical that tricks your brain into thinking that your tongue is on fire. So when you drink water, you spread it even more.

DO:

  • Eat Yogurt
  • Eat Sour cream
  • Drink WHOLE milk
  • Eat white rice
  • Eat bread
  • Eat peanut butter
  • Eat honey
  • Eat Sugar
Why? Dairy removes the chemicals (like dirt and soap).  Bread, white rice sugar etc. soak up the chemicals.  I am not very sure about the others but they do work.

DON'T:
  • Drink water
  • Drink beer
  • Drink soda
Why? They spread the chemicals and soda is known to make it even worse!

So next time you have something spicy for dinner, don't forget to have one of these remedies!
